2018 Emerging Jobs Report

I love the December and it is not because Christmas is here or the first snow has fallen. No, I love December because this is the month when all the end-of-year reports are published. I am fully aware that I am a huge nerd and I’m perfectly fine with it. Anyway, LinkedIn published a great report about what employers were hiring for in 2018 and what they are looking for in 2019.

I enjoyed this report because it wasn’t “mushy” it was data driven and practical. For example, the fastest growing job in 2018 was Blockchain Developer which saw 33X growth in 2018 over previous years. LinkedIn’s report lists the top companies hiring for this position (IBM, ConsenSys, Chainyard), the top industries hiring employees with this skill (IT, Computer Software, Internet), and the cities with the highest demand for this skill (San Francisco, NYC, Atlanta).

I analyzed the data and put it into an infographic for easy reading and sharing. Enjoy it but I also highly encourage everyone to read the report!
