All Boston Venture Firms- Listed.
The startup ecosystem in Boston is on fire, in the best way possible. In April of 2018, Techcrunch reported that Boston had exceeded NYC in total annual venture investment, second only to San Francisco. Looking at the landscape though, it is really no surprise that startup capital is flowing into Boston. Beyond our great universities (MIT, Harvard, BC, Northeastern…) our community runs 50+ incubators and accelerators (MassChallange, Techstars, LearnLaunch, Founder Institute…) that give entrepreneurs the resources and guidance they need to develop and iterate quickly.
The combination of our deep talent pool, small city network, and culture of furthering innovation for the sake of bettering the future leads to perfect conditions for smart venture capitalists to want to invest.
There are many great venture capital firms in Boston, the following is a list of most of them. I say most of them because
1. It is likely impossible to encompass all of them and
2. Some VC firms are very specialized (think BioTech) and only take 1–2 investments / year
-I didn’t include those firms on this list, but they exist- and you should seek them out if your product is very technical/ specialized. Okay, on to the list. This is updated as of December 2018:
