Innovation is sweeping the world and it finally has beauty in its dustpan. Technology has transformed the way we interact with products by providing the connection necessary for brands to customize experiences based on their customers’ needs. Beyond online shopping, beauty is using tech to make some very interesting moves. From PH measuring wearable skin sensors to face time face cream- beauty seems to have a firm grasp on the disruption of their industry and the most focused brands are leveraging it to their full advantage.

Wearable tech adoption has reached the mainstream in the fitness/ health industry, but beauty has just begun to explore it. The current focus with wearable technology is around tracking physiological vitals (such as heart rate) so it is only natural that the beauty industry extend that definition to track other biological elements, such as skin moisture and pH level.
L’Oreal has developed a skin sensor that measures the pH level of your skin and, in conjunction with the app, generates custom recommendations for you. Even in prototype mode, this first of its kind wearable is game changing.
