Brandon Landgraf I totally agree with the way to combat narrow-mindedness. There is a tough give-and-take between being someone who “stands behind their words” and being someone who is open-minded. The two seem to be in direct conflict and since humans have an intense desire to be consistent with their actions, we tend to see people sticking to their ways rather than opening thier mind up simply because they might be portrayed as weak or- even worse- as a “flip-flopper” or a “bandwagon fan.”

Once we (as a society) can disentangle the two concepts from each other, I think we will see the evolution of a new cooperative and collegial way of thinking and acting.

Thanks for your thoughtful comments!
