Dominic Powell The “do just enough to get by” culture in so many industries is disastrous. I feel your pain. This type of mindset puts all of the employees in an impossible position, constantly asking them to choose between “done well” and “done.” Most people settle with that uncomfortable feeling and after a short while they normalize it. If an employee, then, goes out of his way to do the right thing he is questioned like he did something wrong.

The thing is- you can’t lower your moral standards or make case by case exceptions for them. If one starts to bend here, another will start to give way there. I think you have the exact right mindset. Let things break if others are unwilling to help you fix them. At least when you walk away you do so with your integrity in-tact and, at the end of the day, that is enough.
