Don’t Change Your Schedule, Change Your Mind.

The concept of energy management as opposed to time management has captured my attention and captivated my mind the more I learn about it.

I first came across this concept when I was trying to figure out what to do with all of the data my new wearable device was giving me. I had information about my heart rate variability, stress level readings, recovery gauges, sleep scores- so much data that even a numbers person felt overwhelmed.

The real issue is that almost all insights from the wearables themselves are reactive. I wasn’t sure how to fix the problem in the first place (proactively) when I was only being told about the issues after the fact.

One insight I did glean from my wearable was that I had a lot of weekday stress. I knew for sure that this was caused by the fact that I don’t have enough time in the day to get everything I need done and I end up rushed & stressed.

The way I see it, there are two ways to solve this problem.

Option A: Lobby the government and have a chat with the big guy about expanding the day by 2 or 3 hours. I feel fairly confident that I can get everything done in a 27…
