Entrepreneur House
Entrepreneurs are a unique subset of the human population who have big wild ideas and lifestyles that are extra-ordinary. We live, breathe, eat, sleep, and dream about new ventures. We see the world differently than our 9–5 companions and all of that crazy passion helps us to drive new ideas forward.
As an entrepreneur who grew up in Boston, spent some time in New York, and currently located in D.C- I can tell you a lot about living with roommates. If you want to live in a major urban destination- it’s almost a given that at some point you will share a house with 2 – 6 other people. Thus far, my experiences have been less than stellar. The people I’ve lived with over the years were great humans but they didn’t help me become a better entrepreneur.
Instead, they liked to lounge around, hated talking about business, and left work at work. This is fine for most people but for me, I always wished there was more. I wanted to live within a community where I felt like I belonged. I wanted my house-mates to understand where I was coming from when I struggled with startup related issues. If you’re anything like me, you know what it’s like to live with people who don’t “get you” and this type of outcasting leads to isolation, which is dangerous for any human to deal with. Add the struggles of entrepreneurship on top of that and you get one big mess of “I don’t belong here and I’m failing to be…
