Every D.C Venture Capital Firm Listed

Back in February of this year, I wrote about the most powerful startup cities in the U.S and what kind of innovation keeps them running. San Fransisco tops the list and is followed by equally elite entrepreneurial hubs like New York, Boston, and Chicago.

It’s no secret that startups are the lifeblood of this nation and that GDP growth depends on the creativity of entrepreneurs and their willingness to take big risks on the future. But a shift is happening in the VC landscape as investors look beyond the lure of Silicon Valley and out into the lesser-known ocean of promising startups that are splashing the shores of tech, healthcare, biotech, energy, sustainability, and consumer services.

Washington D.C was one of those overlooked innovation oceans until waves of good fortune splashed over our nation's capital last year. Amazon decided to move its new Headquarters into the D.C metro area while hundreds of new startups flowed on to the scene.

Wherever you find startups you’re likely to find Venture Capital and D.C has no shortage of these entities. I’ve put together a list of all of the early stage (seed — series A) investment groups in D.C and neighboring city Maryland in order to help contribute to the spread of innovation in what I believe will be the next great startup ecosystem success story.
