It’s the time of year where we put our plates down and look down at the scale and then up at the mirror. No one is immune to the perils of coming off a holiday break and having to get back on track. Maybe you weren’t on track in the first place and are looking to make a change or maybe you want to kick things up a notch (or five) — regardless of your reasoning, you’re ready to try something new and hit the gym with force.

I am with you.

After a nearly 2 month sabbatical from the gym, I am ready to get back in there. The only problem is, I don’t have the same fitness level I had when I dropped out. Now, I avoid going to the gym because I’m not sure what to do or if I’ll even want to do anything when I get there.

If you have this problem or feel anxiety about this fitness experience, I feel for you and I am going to give you a break down of 4 fitness program apps that I have personally used to get my edge back.

I want to be very clear about the nature of these apps though, I chose them because they all have programs built into them. This is an important distinction from an app like, let’s say, Adaptiv, which deals a variety of very good follow-along with workouts that are stand-alone- meaning they’re not strung together in a pre-planned and meaningful sequence.
