How Judgements Happen
I have to admit: I get obsessed with ideas that I can’t seem to reconcile.
It’s not like I have to fully understand every concept I hear, I just have to know enough to make sense of a theory.
I recognize that sounds vague, so I’ll give you a concrete example: I don’t need to understand the details of neural network operations to recognize that they are currently and will continue to be a vital component of machine learning, which is an important influence on Artifical Intelligence, which is being used in the creation of most new technologies. I don’t have to understand neural networks, I just need to know enough to reconcile the idea of them.
Human beings are designed to take in information and process it to the degree that they understand how it affects them or something they care about and then categorize it. We do this automatically as a result of our evolution.
