I like Thrive a lot and I think this mission is both noble and innovative. I’ve played around with the platform and I live their business model. I hope to have the time to detail a breakdown of these details in a future blog post.

However, I would like to point out that: while Thrive is NHS (National Health Services) Certified, if you dig into their privacy policy they have this to say:

The material displayed on our site is provided without any guarantees, conditions or warranties as to its accuracy. In particular, we would like to make it expressly clear that we do not give any guarantees or warranties that your use of any of the material accessed through this site will either permanently or temporarily cure any stress, phobia, fear, illness and/or other ailment that you may have.

— Thrive, Terms & Conditions

As I suspected, they make claims about “Clinically Proven Behaviour Change Techniques” but unfortunately they don’t have the legal clearance to be used in a clinical setting.

This is just something to keep in mind when you look at companies like Thrive, but not just companies in the health/ fitness space, this pertains to any company making claims about being certified or producing outcomes.
