I tend to agree but I would make the argument that the multi-photo feature can sometimes be the best way to showcase an idea or a theme. I observed an example of this of this on March 8th, which is international women's day. Many women posted multiple photos (in a single horizontal scrolling post) demonstrating all of the influential and important women in their lives. If they had to post 7 separate photos, they likely would not have, but as they had the opportunity to post multiple photos to one post they included all of the strong women in their lives.

My point is, I think in general it is misused but I can see the use cases for it.
