It’s my opinion that other people should have to take some responsibility for their role in making their partner feel the need to lie. Obviously, if their partner thought they could be honest and the issue could be dealt with appropriately they wouldn’t have lied about it- but they did lie because they didn’t have confidence in the other person’s ability to handle the problem with maturity. That says as much about the immature person as it does about the “liar”.
