Ivan Galanin I agree that it is often not the scientists/ researchers faults that they can’t (and I hate to use this terminology but) dumb it down. They have such an intimate relationship with the details of their work it is really hard to step back and explain it in a way that makes clear sense to a non-expert. However, the best and most accomplished minds at the top of their fields can do this and they do it with enchanting brilliance. Examples:

Daniel Kahneman —Psychologist with a Nobel Prize in Economics

Donna Strickland — Nobel Prize in Physics

Frances Arnold — Nobel Prize in Chemistry

Richard Thaler — Economist with a Nobel Prize in Economics
