I’ve come to the conclusion that consciousness is either really easy to understand or so immensely obscure that the human brain doesn't have the tools with which to understand it. One philosophy I really liked is given in a TED Talk by John Searle — he explains how it can be both (easy and obscure) simultaneously.
The perspective you’ve provided here is really interesting because it contemplates both the simplicity and complexity of reality.
