“I started looking down on people for not going hard as fucking shit.” — David Goggins, Retired Navy SEAL, Triathlete, World Record Holder, Author, Overall BAMF

David Goggins is the kind of guy you could hang out with at the pub and never know of the amazing physical feats he’s accomplished or of the incredible mental trials he’s overcome. I don’t personally know him, but I’ve read his book Can’t Hurt Me (highly recommended), watched quite a few of his interviews, and I follow him on Instagram. Everything about him seems so normal. But David Goggins is far from average.

He has served our country patriotically as a SEAL, he’s used his physical strength to raise millions of dollars for charity, and he’s come in first place in races that would make even the most seasoned endurance athlete drop to their knees. In short, he’s been called a real-life superman and the toughest athlete alive and it’s safe to say that these are not overstatements.

This level of motivation is inspiring, clearly, but as any extremely hard worker can tell you, once you know what is possible it’s hard to watch people squander their talent or not use their abilities to the fullest extent.
