People make purchases with emotion and justify them with logic. I think the “seasoned software veteran” got it right when he told you that people won’t pay for it but I think he was wrong about why. He said that people don’t understand the problem, but we both know that fundamentally- that isn't true. Everyone understands how bad it is to get hacked and how slow website speed can kill your business- the thing is that no one cares. You acknowledged this when you wrote that you were “solving a problem nobody has”. I have created too many cool businesses on paper only to find out, after short customer validation periods, that no one actually cares about the problem that much to implement and pay for a solution to it. Thank you for telling your story in an honest and compelling way. There is a lot of hype about “failure” I am glad to see someone actually reflecting thoughtfully on it.
