The 5 Generation Workforce

From the 70 year old partner who won’t retire to the 20 year old associate that won’t look up from her smart phone, our workforce has changed. This is the first moment in history that 5 generations have all been employed at the same time. There are technological gaps, culture differences, and lifestyle contrasts from one generation to the next.

Keeping everyone satisfied will be the hardest but most important initiative for mangers to get right in the coming years. Below is an outline of the different generations and some common characteristics of their cohort in the workplace.
