This is spot on. The only way to stop old problems from happening is to come up with new solutions- period. Regulators need to get out of the way, old guards need to step down, and our disrupters need unequivocal support.

I think there’s an opportunity for a “societal problem” Startup Studio to emerge here. There are Startup Studios popping up in the green-tech space, the healthcare space, and other industries that have been traditionally owned by 3 or 4 big corporations. I think it’s time we fund a group of innovators who are committed to developing startups to solve the problems our population deals with including the policing system, the college education system, and the job/ work system.
