Do you remember playing cops and robbers as a kid? If you were anything like me and my neighborhood crew you might have gotten really into it with walkie-talkies for the police and fake money for the robbers. We didn’t know it at the time but what we were doing was embodying alternative personas and the more we “got into character” the more fun the game was.

Adults just don’t play games the way kids do (or don’t play games at all- in most cases) and that’s unfortunate because without these types of “fun” character playing scenarios us adults are forfeiting the opportunity to dream.

If you could be anything in the world- 👩🏻‍⚕️a doctor, the president 👩‍💼, a professional surfboarder 🏄🏻‍♂️, a CEO 👨‍💼, an artist 💃🏽- what would you be?

The answer to that question is your alter ego and it’s time to re-learn how to play.

What is an Alter Ego?

The word alter ego comes from the philosopher Cicero and means “the other I” or “the trusted friend”. An “alter ego” is also called a persona.
